KLR - 12v Outlet Upfront
This morning I added a 12v outlet upfront to my KLR so I can run a lead into my tank bag (which is still coming) and plug in my battery charger. This is a video summary of the work done.

Still to come;
- SW-Motech Crash Bars [arriving 1 Feb]
- Traxx Panniers (37L, black) and mounting racks [arriving 1 Feb]
- Stainless Steel Braided Breaklines [I have here already, just waiting on a mate who is a mechanic to help. Breaks are not somthing I can afford to get wrong]
- Wolfman Explorer Lite Tank bag [picking up Tomorrow]
Tag bars, Storm Barkbuster handguards (with alloy frame back bone) and Touring screen (not sure which one yet, I like the genuine one but want it tinted)
[not yet purchased, need to negotiate with the minister for war and finance first] |

Stuart I just read you blog again after getting back from my own trip. I was so shocked to see your mates crash, I just hope he’s recovering ok. Don’t give up on the trip though!
I had similar fuel ecconomy issues on my trip. If I stuck to <100km/hr I would get anywhere between 320-350km out of a tank. Go any faster or throw in a head wind and I was down to 200-240km. The bike itself went really well though. I came off seven times on the Gunbarrel and bent the hell out of the crash bars but the KLR just kept on going. 8000km in four weeks and no dramas (except loosing the odd sub-frame bolt).
You also inspired me to throw together a blog about the trip. Check out http://www.mlcoab.blogspot.com if your keen.
Cheers Mike.
